Salicylic acid is a unique acne-fighting ingredient because it can penetrate deep into oil-filled pores and dissolve that excess oil, ultimately helping to combat blackheads and whiteheads in the process. This toner contains a 2% concentration of the skin-clearing ingredient, which also pulls double duty as a gentle chemical exfoliant, to improve the overall look and texture of the skin. While this is safe for all skin types, it’s an especially effective option for those with oily and/or acne-prone skin.

P.M.:
Apply a small amount to skin after cleansing. This can be used nightly, but if you notice any redness or irritation, scale back to every other night.
RealSelf tips:-
If you have combination skin, try applying this only on spots that tend to get slick or are particularly breakout-prone, such as your forehead or chin.
-
You’ll want to apply a moisturizer afterward (make sure it’s a lightweight, oil-free option, if you’re battling blemishes), but be sure to let this completely dry first.
-
Rather than applying with a cotton pad, try pressing a small amount directly into skin with your fingertips. This ensures that most of the product actually makes it onto your face rather than getting absorbed into the cotton pad.

Salicylic acid: One of the most commonly used beta hydroxy acids, salicylic acid is unique in that it’s both oil-soluble and lipophilic. This is why it’s able to get deep into oil-filled pores, where it works to break up excess oil. Along with being deeply purifying, the chemical exfoliant also helps remove built-up dead cells, leaving skin more radiant.
